抄録: On the basis of comments of instructors assessing the performance of 20 students in practice of conduct during labor, categories considered to provide viewpoints for the instructors assessment were classified, and aspects considered to be weak points of the students were extracted. Weak points of the students suggested in various categories were: (1) Concerning the skill of midwifery diagnosis along the course of delivery, (2) concerning the skill of anticipation, integrated anticipation of the time of delivery based on various information, (3) concerning midwifery planning, planning based on the anticipation of delivery, (4) concerning care in the first and second stages of labor, assistance in woman during labor (5) concerning preparation for labor, preparation of articles necessary for labor, particularly preparation in consideratin of the priority, (6) concerning manipulations in conduct of delivery, protection of the perineum, especially slow discharge of the head of the neonate by coordinated use of the hands and control of the womans breathing and pushing, (7) concerning communication skills, establishing confidence of the woman during labor, especially active verbal communication, and (8) concerning the positive attitude toward the practice. These results will be useful references for the establishment of an instructors guide to have students effectively practice conduct during labor in individual cases.
