助産婦選択女性の出産体験の分析

Abstract

The purpuse of the study is to clarify what women who chose maternity center experienced there in order to review the care for women who experience normal childbirth. During hospitalization, women wrote about their experiences freely and voluntarily. The notes were used as data for the study by analyzing the contents. As a result, the notes were categorized into ten topics, i.e., "their choice of a place for childbirth, ""their wish to make themselves understood, ""a place for childbirth as a living space, ""attitudes and mindset of midwife, ""reliable skills to help deliver a baby, ""gratitude, ""self-control, ""awareness and resolution as a mother, ""broader perspective, " and "happiness as a woman." The women chose the place for childbirth for themselves, and make their feelings known within the course of a continuing relationship with the center's midwife. The place where they took health checks and gave birth to their babies was a part of their daily lives, and that made them feel relaxed. In such an environment, they were kindly treated by the midwife, received reliable care, and were thankful to those who looked after them. As a result, they started to have stronger awareness as mothers and the willpower to control themselves, they felt happiness as a woman, and gained a broader perspective on things. Consequently, their experience of childbirth at maternity center was a positive influence in the process of their growth into fully fledged mothres.
