The dielectric properties in the longitudinal and tangential directions for absolutely dried Sitka spruce (Pisea sitchensis Carr.) wood were measured at five frequencies (50Hz, 110Hz, 1kHz, 10kHz, 100kHz) and over a temperature range from -150℃ to -10℃. From the Cole-Cole plots of the results, the dielectric properties of wood and cell wall over a frcquency range from 10-5Hz to 1012Hz were estimated. The anisotropy of the relaxation due to the orientational poralization of methylol groups was not recognized. The electrical conduction in the absolutely dried wood was considered to be closely related to the orientation of methylol groups.
