Studies on the Movement of Nasopharyngeal Wall Related to Speech

Abstract

In a post-operative case of nasal cancer, the direct frontal view of the nasopharynx was readily observed through the defect in the face. In order to evaluate the complex phonatory movement of the nasopharynx, this case was a most favorable one. Authors made the cinematographic observations of the articulatory movement of the nasopharynx. The knowledge concerning the phonatory movement of this unaccessible structure is very scanty because of the difficulties of its visualization.
