抄録: | Objective: This objective of this study was to examine whether women’s social status including reproductive health and education, and economic situation is associated with HIV infection rate among women in developing countries. Methods: Using data from 110 countries from “the state of the world’s children” and “the state of world population”, we used statistic test of Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. The results showed a relationship between women’s social status and HIV infection rates. Results: low rates for primary education, low rates of literacy, low rates of contraception, and low levels of GNI (Gross National Income) increased HIV infection rate among women. The predictors of HIV infection rate strongly interacted with each other. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that development programs for women in developing countries should focus on raising literacy, and providing appropriate sex education, as well as practical skills for protecting against HIV transmission. |
