Funding Small-Scale Industry for National Development

Abstract

In trying to identify concrete issues which should from the basis of consistent policies, this paper presents the development of appropriate promotional programmes for small-scale industry (SSI) as a viable option in national development. The potentials and limitations of SSI development policy are reviewed from literature while highlighting successes of dynamic SSI policies in some Asian countries. Innovation funding strategies derived from the experience of industry in general are suggested for Nigeria.
