Abstract: | This preliminary study on the ethnobotany of the Kumu tribe of Zaire living at Masako (Kisangani) lists 55 wild species partly used as foods. Fruits or roots are eaten, and some are used as aromatics, vegetables, or drinks. Most of them grow in the thick rain forest. Their methods for preparation for use are also described. |
