Plantes Utiles Chez les Batiabetuwa de l'Ile de Mbie, Kisangani, Zaire

Abstract

Ethnobotanical research was made on the Batiabetuwa people living in Mbie Island in the Zaire River near Kisangani. A total of 89 species were collected and their vernacular names and traditional usages were recorded. For the plants used for medicinal purposes, additional information was obtained on the type of disease to which the plants are applied, and on the modes of preparation and administration of the plants for medicinal uses.
