開水路模型実験の相似律に関する研究 ―模型歪みの効果について―

Abstract

Owing to costs of laboratory facilities such as water supply, space and equipment, many open channel models are constructed by two different linear scales, one for the hori-zontal dimension and another for the vertical dimension. However, the hydraulic effects ofmodel distortion have not well known.In this paper the author proposes some new formulas and charts to determine factorsinvolving the effects of side walls in the case of channels with a rectangular cross-sectionand discusses the conditions of similitude for distorted open channel models with a fixedbed. Two numerical examples are added to illustrate the method of selection of modelscale ratios. They also show that the suitability of model distortion should not be decidedwithout inspecting the model roughness.
