dc.description.abstractThe experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of the axial force on the horizon-tal ultimate strength and deformation capacity within the limit of stability. Models wereend fixed steel portal frames consisting of beams and columns with rectangular cross sectionsand were cut off by a machine of 10 mm mild steel plate without heating. The span andcolumn height were both 200 mm. The slenderness ratios were 100, 50, 30, and the beamcolumn stiffness ratios were 0.5, and 1.0, . The results were compared with the plastic collapseloads considered the influence of the axial force.en
