京都周辺に発生する微小地震(1)

Abstract

阿武山地震観測所の常時地震観測によってP～Stimeのごく短い地震が屡々観測されて来た。(Photo.)そのP～Stimeは1秒以下と思われる地震も観測される。阿武山の数万倍程度の短周期地震計による観測では, 大体1日2～3回が数えられるが, この種の地震は1年に数回の有感地震を伴う。この大部分は微小地震であるような, 京都周辺に発生する地震を調べ, 地震の種々な性質を明らかにするために多点観測を計画した。1963年10月から4観測点で観測を開始し順次観測点を増しているが, この報告は1963年10月から1964年2月迄の4観測点, 以後6月迄の5観測点による観測結果から主に震央の分布について述べる。

For throwing the light on the nrture of micro-earthquakes occurring in the vicinity ofKyoto, the routine observations were set about on Oct. 1963 at six stations. Data obtainedhitherto show that the epicenters are located in a belt-like region running from Wakasa Bay toOsaka Bay with width of about 25 km. The hypocenters lie in the crust. The fact that micro-earthquakes occurred concentrately in the belt-like region might be due to the geologicalstructure judging from the behavier of gravity anomaly there. The magnitudes of the micro-earthquakes treated here are estimated to range from 1 to 3.
