| dc.description.abstract | Most observations on the sediment flows have been performed in plain rivers, butthese in the mountainous region are little in Japan. The authors carried out someobservations on the sediment yield and transport in a small mountain watershed, calledthe Hirudani Experimental Watershed, which is a tributary of the Jintsu River in GifuPrefecture, Japan. - This paper presents some informations on the watershed and someresults of the observations on soil characteristics, run-off characteristics, rate of sedimentyield and transport, and changes in water qualities during floods. Some considerations onthe sediment yield and transport in a mountain basin are made and methods of theobservation are discussed. | en |
