びわ湖の内部波の研究(I)

Abstract

The vertical distributions of the vertical velocity components of the internal waves inLake Biwa were estimated from temperature variation in each layer, obtained from 24 hoursobservation in May 10-11, 1967. A prevailing seven hours period oscillation was pickedup by the method of the overlapping-mean, and the vertical distribution of the amplitudeand phase were compared with eigen solutions of the three layer model basin based onthe perturbation theory. It was found that the seven hours period internal oscillationin Lake Biwa corresponds with the second mode solution.
