dc.description.abstractBy means of aerophotographic analysis, it has become possible to describe the velocityof the landslide flow at so many points of the ground surface that the data can be practi-cally regarded as the two dimensional ones. It was intended to found a method to derivea distribution of some physical quantities concerning the microscopic characteristics ofthe rheological flow of landslides from this data. It was found that the numericaldifferentiation of the vector of the displacement can introduce the volume change, thecomponents of the strain tensor, and the components of the vector representing therotation. The trial analyses on the landslide of Kamenose, Osaka Prefecture, showedthat this analyses can give rheological properties of landslides in sounder forms than theusual analyses heased on the terrestrial observations, hut that the two dimensional analyseshave a significant defect because it does not account for the vertical distribution of thelandslide flow. Discussion was made on the accuracy of the analyses, the method ofexpanding them to the three dimensional ones, and the possibilitiy of estimating thestress distribution from the strain distribution.en
