田辺湾における海況変動の観測(第3報)

Abstract

In the second report of the same title, we discussed a series of oceanographic survey carried outin Tanabe Bay in August 1966, and the intrusion of the water mass of lower salinity and highertemperature was considered to be a density flow due to the density difference between inside andoutside the bay. In this report, the postulation that the pressure gradient would balance with theCoriolis force is applied for the first place, but the result is not reasonable. We postulate for thenext place that the pressure gradient would balance with the stress terms. The result shows thatthe values of the velocities are reasonable and that the salt flux calculated from the velocity profilesexplains the time change of the eblorinity observed.
