| dc.description.abstract | There appear marked discontinuities in water temperature and eblorinity at the mouth of Kii-Suidoin winter. In connection with this, the process of yearly change in oceanic situation in the sea of Ku-Suido is described. The horizontal diffusion coefficients are estimated of 10 7 cm2/sec in the inside sea ofKii-Suido and of 2 x 10 6 cm2/sec near the mouth of Kii-Suido from the distribution of the yearly meanchlorinity. The possibility that the former is explained as the shear effect of a horizontal circulation inthe sea of Kii-Suido and the latter as the tidal mixing and the shear effect of a vertical circulationthrough Kii-Suido is discussed. | en |
