Abstract: Turbulent transport of momentum, sensible heat and water vapor from Lake Biwa is discussed.The drag coefficient (CD) and the eddy transfer coefficients of sensible heat (CH) and water vapor(CE) over the water near the lake shore are determined. They decrease with increasing windspeed (U) up to 5m/sec, but have approximately constant values (CD=2.6x lO-3, CH=2.6x 10-3, and CE =1.8 x l0-3 at the height of 5.7 m) for U>5 m/sec. The turbulent fluxes measured nearthe lake shore are compared with those obtained offshore. Some systematic differences are seenbetween those values caused by the water surface temperature distributions.
