| 抄録: | Swelling characteristics of mudstones have been studied. A thermodynamic study on the basisof pF versus water content relations indicates the importance of the capillary potential for eluci-dating the mechanism of slaking in mudstones. Furthermore, it is found from a limited numberof swelling tests that behaviors of mudstones under swelling are markedly anisotropic. In orderto account for this, the relations relating swelling pressures to swelling strains and the initial capillarypressure are derived with the aid of the theory of cross-anisotropic elasticity, and then their validityis discussed. |
