口永良部火山における臨時地震観測結果

Abstract

Kuchierabuzima volcano is one of the most active volcano in the Satsunan Islandsregion in Kyushu Japan. A seismic observation was carried out temporary in the volcanoin Sep. 1974, and the following results are obtained.1) The seismic activity near the crater was not so hight, and only one A type volcanicearthquake was observed. The epicenters of another earthquakes which were not volcanicones, were distributed in a belt from east part of Kuchierabuzima to the north searegion of Yakushima island.2) There observed yellow green water pool in the Shindake creter. The diameter of thepool is about ten meters. Judging from the surface state of the pool, the temperatureof the crater bottom is estimated to be less than several ten degrees in centigrade.
