| 抄録: | The earthquake of Niigata in 1961 caused damages due to the liquifaction of saturated veryloose sand areas in large scale. The formation of the areas is closely related with recent history ofNiigata since the seventeenth century. This tells us the area were generated very rapidly underthe interaction of natural factor, the large amount sand delivery of Shinano River and social factors, the development of Niigata as a port town and the need for enlargement of rice fields. |
