琵琶湖における波浪観測について

Abstract

Observations of wind and waves were carried out at both Hikone-Aisei and Nagahamafacing Lake Biwa by using eleven and three wave gauges of capacitance type respectively fora year from March in 1975 as a joint investigation of the Department of Civil Engineering andthe Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University. In this report, first of all, theobservation systems of wind waves including wind are described and some of the observed dataare presented as examples. Secondly, several results of analytical studies using observed dataare shown, such as statistical distributions of water surface displacement, wave height and waveperiod, frequency and directional spectra, wave forecasting by the SMB method and transforma-tion of wind waves in shoaling water.
