抄録: | Sedimentation in reservoirs gives a large influence on the process of sediment transport andcauses various problems.Therefore, the removal of sediment from reservoirs is very important subject. The authorsare earring out a synthetic research progam in order to establish a system for removal of reservoirsedimentation.This paper describes the theoretical and experimental results on the vortex tube sand trap whichis included in the research program.The equations are theorefically obtained for the inflow velocity from slit of vortex tube and alsodischarge distribution along the tube, which were verified by the experiment.Characteristics of the spiral flow in vortex tube which is responsible for the removal of sediment, is clarified by the experiment.Concerning the function for sediment removal of vortex tube, theoretical and experimentalinvestigations have been conducted.A non-dimensional geometrical parameter which determines the efficiency of the vortextube was obtained. And, also most effective geometry of vortex tube and critical condition overwhich the vortex tube can not be applicable are presented. |
