dc.description.abstractIn this paper we put an interpretation based on the maximum entropy for the reason that thedistribution of rainfall and river discharge variables is different from hourly to daily or monthlytime unit. And then we put an interpretation based on the concept of entropy for the runoffsystem, in particular relating the runoff system to the scale effect in time and space. Lastly wedefine the transmission rate of the runoff system with due regard to that it is a lag system and findout the transition probabilities among the runoff states by maximizing the transmission rate undersome constraints. Once the probabilities being found out, we may simulate the sequences of riverdischarge on a basis of those probabilities.en
