Abstract

Most water systems in the urban areas are already developed. At the same time they are highlycomplex. This is true with respect to physical configuration, planning, management, environmentalinteractions, etc. The large-scale and multi-objective systems make increase the level of complexity.The methods of system analysis or systems approach have played an important role with an increaseof complexity. This paper proposes the systems approach to planning and management of thiscomplex water resources sytems. The main procedures of systems approach bring to focus onhydrological, long term in future, reliable or resilient and comprehensive aspects of water resourcessystems.
