dc.description.abstract | Considering need of grasping time and space distribution of heavy rainfall from as wide fieldof view as possible, heavy rainfalls of the four mutually noticeable cases, which were relatively wideand long in duration, were selected, and data files for a digital computer of their hourly rainfallrecords at observation points that were widely distributed in almost whole land of Japan for almostwhole duration of them, were composed and analyzed synthetically by a mesh method in the precedingstudy.In this study, mainly taking problems of filling missing data and ability of statistical forecastingof short term rainfalls into consideration, and focusing on correlative structures of rainfall distri-bution, analyses and/or examinations of the following items were tried for the data files mentionedabove: (1) Auto-correlation coefficients of hourly rainfall series averaged in area of different sizes andof moving average series of hourly rainfall at point, (2) Cross-correlation coefficients of hourly rainfallseries at points, (3) Cross-correlation coefficients of hourly rainfall series averaged in blocks formedby the mesh division of 30'x30', and time lags which give the maximum correlation coefficient, (4) Same as (3) for moving average series.Some interesting results were obtained through these approach, although they are almost quali-tative because of insufficient density and non-uniform distribution of observation points. | en |
