dc.description.abstractIn an open channel with flood plains, a flow has a complex turbulent structure and it hasnot been clarified yet. In this paper, the distribution of boundary shear stress was measured usinga hydrogen bubble method, and longitudinal eddies near the edge of flood plain were investigatedby velocity measurement with a laser doppler anemometer and a hot film anemometer, and flowVisualization techniques. Experiments were made in a complex cross section channel in whichthe slope of flood plain's bank was 90 or 45 .Experimental results show that the slope of flood plain's bank influences on the distributionof boundary shear stress, and that three longitudinal eddies are recognized near the edge offlood plain.en
