| 抄録: | This study aims to examine into conditions relating conservation and devastation of the tradi-tional irrigation-ponds in Nara Basin, focusing on the relations between agricultural managementand water use in agricultural settlements, which have long been fundamental units of irrigation.By some statistical analyses of the data in "Agricultural Settlement Card from Agricultural Census"(1970, 1980), it is clarified that settlements' ownership, cooperative management of and reliance onirrigation-ponds have continued where agricultural "vitalities" of farm-housholds have been main-tained notwithstanding the pressure of urbanization, and have been weakened where farm-house.Holds have strenghtened the tendency toward "part-time farming". |
