Abstract

Research Center for Disaster Reduction Systems have conducted research works on The Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake Disaster which occurred on 17 January, 1995.In this paper, we introduce the outline of the disaster, lessons and care of PTSD.In our big city, innner city problem is very general, so that the most urgent measure is to improve the urban environment in order to reduce human and property damage due to natural disasters.We have never had such a psychological care problem.Especially, many school students whose parents, relatives and friends were dead or severely injured need it.Disaster management is very important to mitigate the damage.Emergency management is composed with risk management and crisis management which include hardware, software, humanware and commandware.
