抄録: | Ground vibrations by blasts were observed to investigate their effects on the observationof ground strains at the Miyazaki Crustal Movement Observatory. The geology around theObservatory is mudstone formation with thin sandstone layers of the Miyazaki group inNeogene.Vp and Vs of the non-weathered rocks were found to be 3.6 km/sec and 1.6 km/sec, re-spectively. Qp and Qs were estimated to be around 10 and 14, respectively. These valueswere discussed with relation to the observational facts of large attenuation in high frequencycontents of seismic waves from local earthquakes.Many steps recorded by extensometers at the blasts and earthquakes were mainly attribut-able to mechanics of extensometers. |
