dc.description.abstractThe summary of electro-optical distance measurements carried out in 5 networks (Amagase, Donzurubo, Wakayama, Shikano and Yoshioka) during the period of 1968-1987 is reported.The trends of strain accumulations determined by electro-optical distance measurements inAmagase and Donzurubo networks are roughly consistent with observational results obtainedfrom extensometers in the vaults of Amagase and Donzurubo observatories, respectively.Strain change in the Wakayama network during 1975-1978 may be related to seismic activ-ity in this region, where many noticeable shocks of M=3.0-4.5 occurred in 1977.In 1983, a remarkable earthquake of M=6.2 occurred at the distance of 15-20 km from theShikano and Yoshioka networks, but we could not detect the strain change associated with theearthquake.en
