台風9019号の解析とレインバンドについて

Abstract

For the severe Typhoon 9019 (FLO) having made landfall on the Kii Peninsula at 20:00 JST, Sept. 19, 1990, the radial pressure profile is represented by the Schloemer's formula with an objective analysis method. Data in the typhoon center region is interpolated by a time-space conversion, and a time series of pressure pattern was obtained with the ten-minute interval by the analysis. As the wind balancing to the analyzed pressure pattern, the gradient wind speed, Vgr is computed. The ratio, Rv of the observed surface wind speed to Vgr is investigated in relation to topography, and it is shown that Rv increases inside of the eye wall.On a day before the landfall, when the typhoon passed near the Tanegashima Island with the central pressure of 920 mb, a developed rainband passed over this island. In the frontal zone of the rainband, horizontal convergence of 1.0×10-3s-1 s1 is evaluated, and in the rear horizontal divergence of 6.9×10-4ｓ-1 is seen.
