dc.description.abstractA study is undertaken on sporadic accerelated variations of flow in coastal zone. A semi-infinite ocean with a coast on a meridional line is considerd. The ocean is assumed to be an ocean of two layer which is under control of the Earth's rotation, so called, beta effect. Fourier-Laplace transform is utilized for getting solution. Various parameters are inroduced in order to consider what patterns can be expected in the ocean. One of the pattern as the solution seems to show that the observed sporadic variations of currents in the coastal zone can be related to the possibly excited undulations of the interface of the two layer or to the internal waves caused indirectly to the approaching typhoon in advance. A specific example is introduced for helping our dynamical understanding on the basis of this work.en
