イタリアの日本資料図書館における活動・実態調査報告

Abstract

2005年12月，イタリアのナポリ・ローマ・ヴェネツイアの日本資料図書館を訪問し，各館における実態，特に，活動・運営，蔵書，日本資料・日本情報の提供・入手，目録等について調査した。イタリアにおける日本語学習者は増加傾向にあるが，蔵書の多い図書館は少なく，ほとんどの図書館で東アジア・東洋等と同組織である。日本語を理解する司書も少ない。日本からの図書館サービス・情報発信の改善として，書誌・目録データベースにおけるローマ字併記の整備，ILL受付体制の整備と説明の強化等が考えられる。

In December 2005, the author visited Italian Japanese resource libraries in Napoli, Rome, and Venice, and surveyed their collections, operations, and activities and how they select, acquire and catalog Japanese language materials. While the number of Japanese language learners appears to be on the increase in Italy. There are very few libraries with large Japanese collections. Most libraries are operated as a combined East Asian or Oriental collections and there are very few staff who can understand Japanese. The author offers a number of examples of how improved services from Japan, such as including Romanization in cataloging records or providing more information about getting interlibrary loan, can help Italian Japanese resource libraries to serve their clientele better.
