dc.description.abstract | We studied photoluminescence (PL) and energy transfer dynamics in CdSe nanocrystal (NC) assembled monolayers on Au surfaces. The close-packed CdSe NC monolayers were fabricated using the Langmuir–Blodgett method on spin-coated inert polymer films on rough-surface Au substrates. The PL intensity and PL decay time were dependent on the distance between the CdSe NCs and Au surfaces. These observations indicate that the metal-semiconductor distance and the luminescence-energy dependences of the energy transfer rate can be understood in terms of the Coulomb interaction between excitons in NCs and plasmons on the Au surfaces. | en |
