Abstract: The Uighur Āgama texts include the translations of the so-called 四阿含経 (Four Āgamas) and the translations of 別訳雑阿含 (the Minor Chinese Version of the Samyukta-āgama). At the St. Petersburg Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies (Russian Academy of Sciences) we found 16 leaves of the Uighur Āgama fragments, 3 of which we have already discussed in another article. In this paper, another 9 leaves that belong to 増一阿含(Ekottara-āgama) are examined. All the Uighur translations of Āgama known to us today, with a few exceptions, present the same two characteristics in their method of translation of original texts. First, they are word-for-word translations of extracts from the Chinese version of Āgama. Secondly, at the beginning of every translation they cite some Chinese characters written at the beginning of the extracted original Chinese text which, consequently, indicate where the portions were extracted from. From these two characteristics we can easily identify the Chinese passages which these Uighur passages correspond to. In this paper, we present a transliteration, transcription, Japanese translation and commentary on the text in the 9 leaves, which refer to the corresponding Chinese originals.
