Abstract: This part of the report gives the results ob t ained in the experiments using rabbits while the Part I shows the results from clinical cases. The distribution of free amino acids found i n the normal renal tissue of ten rabbits was compared with that in the experimentally tuberculous renal tissue of ten rabbits. Thirteen free amino acids ; asparatic acid, glutamic acid, serine, tyrosine, v aline, leucine, alanine, glycine, cystine, threonine, phenylalanine, arginine and methionine could be observed in the renal cortex of normal rabbits, while these seven, asparatic acid, gluta mic acid, serine, tyrosine, histidine, threonine and phenylalanine could be seen in the normal renal medulla. In n ormal renal tissue, the cortex contains the more free amino acids than the medulla. These free amino acids were observed in the tuberculous cavity : asparatic acid, glutamic acid, serinP, glycine, valine, threonine, tyrosine, leucine and alanine. Compared with normal renal tissue, in the tuberculous cavity alanine and glycine, increase, tyrosine and leucine tend to increase, and phenylalanine, arginine, methionine and cystine tend to decrease.
