腎盂レ線像及び尿中角化上皮の証明により診断し得た腎盂白板症の1例

Abstract

A Case of leukoplakia diagnosed preoperatively by the pyelogram and cornified epithelial cells in urine. A 30-year-old f e male patient was addmited with chief complanint of mild pollakisuria and dull aching of the left flank. A diagnosis of leukoplakia o f the left renal pelvis was made by intravenous and retrograde pyelograms which revealed an irregularity of density of the left renal pelvis suggesting folds running longitudinally and a moth-eaten-appearance of the lower calyx. A d i agnosis was supported by discovery of cornified cells in catheterized urine from the left ureter on the Papanicolaou staining. Nephrectomy was performed and the diagnosis was confirmed. Discovery o f cornified epithelial cells in urine and characteristic pyelographic findings are improtant in diagnosis of leukoplakia of the renal pelvis, and it is not of extreme difficulty to make a preoperative diagnosis through careful evaluation of these findings. The present case of leukoplakia of renal pelvis is the forth diagnosed preoperatively in the world.
