正常人尿中17-KS測定値について

Abstract

Urine samples were collected routinely from a total o f 69 of normal males and females ranging in age from 2 to 76 and the 24-hour urinary excretion of 17-KS was measured according to the method of Drekter et al. The standard deviation of each excretion level was calculated and was chosen as an index of the 17-KS urinary excretion level of normal man. The results thus obtained are these 1. Generally speaking, males showed a h i gher urinary excretion level of 17-KS than females. Males in their 20's and females in their 50's yielded maximum urinary excretion levels. 2 . Males and females both under 10 years gave very low urinary excretion levels. 3. The urinary excretion of 17-KS took place more rapidly in females in th e ir 10's than males of the same age group, and the former gave a higher urinary excretion level. 4. In their 20's, males showed a sudden increase in the urinary excretion of 1 7 -KS. In their 30's there was a temporary decrease in the excretion level, but in their 40's the excretion level increased again. Over 50 years of age, there was a gradual decrease in the excretion, but that decrease was more prompt than in the case of females.
