Progestogenの雄ラット性腺におよぼす影響の基礎的小実験

Abstract

Wistar male adult rats have been weekly administered SH 582 subcutaneously for 4 to 8 weeks with the doses ranging from 5 to 100 mg. The studies have been conducted on the weight of the testis, and the male accessory glands were also studied. The weight of the testis did not show any considerable change. The male accessory glands predominantly decreased the weight with the dose of 100mg per week, although the decrease was observed with the dose of more than 50 mg per week. Any pathologic change was not found histologically in the testis. We could observe the atrophy and characteristic fibrosis in the prostate, especially in the dorsal prostate and the ampullary gland.
