膀胱腫瘍に対する局所注入療法 (第3報) - Bacillus Calmette-Guerin(BCG)の効果について -

Abstract

Nine preoperative bladder cancer patients were submitted to local injection therapy. Using a 26 gauge needle, BCG 1×10[7] cells/0.5 ml was injected into the stalk of the tumor under an endoscopic procedure. Two weeks later the second injection was performed by the same method. Cystoscopic, hematological, immunological and histological examinations were made during the observation. One out of nine patients showed disappearance of the tumor after about three months observation. Histological change after BCG injection was as same as that after adriamycin injection. There was no adverse reaction such as fever and granulomatous reaction. Although these result are still preliminary, it seems to be useful for an evaluation of immunological response and a new therapeutic approach to tumor.
