dc.description.abstract | Seventeen patients with complicated urinary tract infections were administered 4g of fosfomycin sodium by intravenous drip infusion for 90 min twice a day (morning and evening) for 5 days. The results were as follows. 1. In 14 patients for whom global clinical assessment based on " Criteria for Drug Efficacy Evaluation in UTI" was possible, the efficacy was excellent in one, good in 9 and poor in 4, giving an overall efficacy rate of 71% . 2. There were no objective adverse reactions in any of the patients, but a rise in transaminase values thought to be related to the fosfomycin administration was seen in 3 patients. Of these, 2 soon returned to normal, and the condition could not be followed up in one. 3. After the intravenous infusion, the mean drug concentration in the serum peaked at 222.0±39.0 fig/ml, and then decreased rapidly as it was excreted in the urine. | en |
