An expedition was made to Okinawa for the study of the Third Miyakojima Typhoon, which brought about serious damage there in September 1968. The meteorological characteristics and the damage to buildings were examined in comparison with those of the Second Miyakojima Typhoon, which struck the same region in 1966. The results are described in this paper following the checking rules which were advised to UNESCO by the AD HOC Working Group on Missions to Areas Damaged by Severe Wind Storms.en
