白山火山周辺の微小地震活動

Abstract

白山火山の東山麓に衛星通信による地震観測点を設置した。この結果，白山火山の直下においてこれまで観測できなかったような微小地震が多数観測され，その活動は非常に浅いところに発生していることが明らかとなった。それらの活動は，時々群発化していることも明らかとなった。また，メカニズム解も求められ，この付近でこれまで求められている解と同じように，東西主圧力の横ずれ型であった。

A new seismological observation station was installed in the eastern flank of Hakusan Volcano, in thenortheastern Chubu District in July, 2003. At the station, many microearthquakes were observed just beneath thevolcano and the focal depths are very shallow to be less than 3km. The seismic activities often occur in swarms.A relatively large shock with M3.3 occurred on October, 2003 for the first time after six years beneath thevolcano. The focal mechanism of the event is a strike-slip type with an E-W pressure axis as same as othershocks in the area.
