男性女性のQuality of Life (QOL)と年齢との関係について

Abstract

インドネシア・イリアンジャヤ州・ワメナ周辺地域に居住する住民を対象に, 男性女性のQOLの年齢による変化について調べた. QOLの評価方法としては, VAS(Visual Analogue Scale)を用いた. その結果, 主観的健康度(VAS-health)については, 男性女性ともに年齢との相関関係は弱く, 加齢による変化は少ないといえる. 主観的幸福度(VAS-happy)については, 女性で弱い相関関係が見られ, 男性については見られなかった. 加齢による変化は少ないといえる. 主観的経済度(VAS-econmy)については, 男性では年齢とともに上昇する傾向が見られた. その原因の1つとして年をおうごとに男性では財産が蓄積することが考えられた. 一方, 女性については, 20代をピークに年齢とともに下がっていく傾向が見られた. その原因に一夫多妻制の文化の影響があるのではないかと考えられた.

We investigated the change of 'Quality of life' by aging for the men and women living around Wamena, Irianjaya, Indonesia. We used the "Visual Analog Scale (VAS)" for the quantitative assessment of quality of life. As a result, "VAS-health " had a little relationship with age in both of men and women. "VAS-happy" had no relationship in men, but had a little one in women. "VAS-economy" had a little relationship with age in the both. "VAS-economy" in men became larger with aging. As a reason, the men keep their own things with advancing age. In contrast, women became poorer after 20 years with aging probably due to sense of loss of things. It is supposed to be related to the culture of "Poligamy".
