dc.description.abstractOur fieldwork trip was to see those areas where, now developing rapidly but were closed to foreigners until 1990. I learned much about forest from colleague members and about local affairs from experienced tour guide. Although we could not survey traditional life style of ethnic groups well due to limited time and vast distance of 1700km. This turned out to be a kind of essay rather than an academic report of what we have observed. This article aims to report present condition of Xishuangbanna, The Ancient Tea and Horse Caravan Road, The Burma Road. I would like to introduce pictorial scene in the laurel forest zone by photos.en
