レクリエーション林の利用規制の認識と行動に関する研究 : マウントレーニア国立公園への日本人訪問客を対象としたケーススタディー

Abstract

利用規則を定めることで利用客の行動を規制しようとしているレクリエーション利用地は多いが、規則が十分に守られない例もある。ここでは、利用客の過去の経験と利用規則の知識との相関を見ることで、利用規制の方法を考察した。その結果、利用者の過去の訪問経験や、この論文で間接経験と呼ぶ自然体験や自然に対する関心の高さなどが、その人がレクリエーションの利用規則の内容を判断するのに影響を与え、正しい判断を促すことが示された。また、規則の内容を知るだけでなく、規則内容の利害関係や因果関係を理解することが規則への同調行動を促すと考えられる。その際、間接経験はレクリエーション行動の意志決定過程にも影響を与え、間接経験が豊かな人は利害関係や因果関係の情報が与えられない場合でも規則の内容に合致した行動をとる確率が高い。したがって、レクリエーション利用を研究する上で間接経験の影響を重視する必要があると考えられる。

Regulations are set in many recreation areas for controling visitor's behavior. In this paper, relationship between visitors' knowledge of regulations of recreation area and their previous experiences is analyzed. As a result, the more the visitors have previous experiences of visiting to national parks in the U.S., hiking, and camping, and concern about outdoor recreation (the researchers call these "indirect experiences" ), the more they pass fair judgements on the regulations. The visitors tend to act in compliance with the regulations if they understand the interest of the regulations and the causal relation what their compliance to the regulations cause them and what kind of results their non-compliance cause. The" in direct experiences" affect decision-making process, and visitors with much "indirect experi ences" tend to act in accordance with the regulations even if they are not given any information about the interest and the causal relation.
