Abstract: Bhutanese Buddhism and the nature of the country are supposed to support the happiness of the Bhutanese. This report introduces the former studies and my own experiences in Bhutan, which supports the idea. There are at least two ways in Bhutanese Buddhism supporting the spirits of the Bhutanese. One is that they think not only about this life but also the afterlife, so they don’t only think about the happiness in this life. The other is that the Buddhism contains the idea that one should be content to be as it is. I think the natural environment also supports the spirits of the people. In Bhutan, the nature wraps and protects us, enabling us to open up our minds, thus leading us to feel relieved and happy, and the sense I felt in the visit.
