Abstract

チンパンジーとは地球上でヒトに最も近縁な種である。ひと昔前まで, チンパンジー研究の主眼はヒトとの類似点を探すことに置かれていたが, 形態学, 生態学, 行動学, 社会学, 認知科学などがもたらした成果によって, 最近ではむしろ両者の相違点を見つけることの方が困難になりつつある。そして, 近年のゲノム研究は, 両者のDNAを構成するアミノ酸の塩基配列が, 最小で, 1.23％の差しかないことを明らかにした。言い換えれば, 彼らは私たちを映す鏡であり, 彼らを深く理解することは, 延いては人間そのものの本性を解き明かすことにも繋がるだろう。チンパンジーの出産とそれに続く育児の過程を人間のそれと比較し, それらの異同を詳細に分析することで新たな知見が得られる一方で, 育児というものが個体の発達過程において精神的・社会的に及ぼす影響についても重要な示唆をもたらすに違いない。

Chimpanzee is the most closely-related species to human. Previous researches on chimpanzees Focused on finding the similarities to human. Rather, it currently becomes difficult to find some differences between the two due to lots of achievement created by morphology, ecology, ethology, sociology, cognitive science, etc. The recent genomic studies revealed that the base sequences of amino-acid making up DNA had at least 1.23% of differences between the two. Chimpanzees, in other words, are just like a mirror which we are reflected in. The deep understanding of them, therefore, will eventually result in unlocking human real nature. We surely can obtain new findings from comparison of the processes from birth to maternal care between chimpanzee and human as well as detailed analysis of similarities and differences in them. Those comparison and analysis, meanwhile, will definitely produce important and suggestive results regarding psychological and social effects of mental care on individual course of development also.
