<紀行・エッセー・感想文>ブータン産婦人科診療、土佐健診から発想を得た、フィールド医学研究計画

Abstract

人の幸福とは何によって決まるか?この大きなテーマを多角的に研究するべく、大学院に入学した。2013年から国民総幸福量(Gross National Happiness, 以下GNH)で有名なブータンのJigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital(JDWNRH)にて半年間勤務をする機会を得た。ブータン特有の高所環境や発展途上の医療システムでの貴重な臨床経験からヒントを得て、標高と妊娠高血圧症候群の関連についての研究計画を立案した。また、大学院入学後より、高齢者との直接的なかかわりの中から発想を得た、高齢者における骨盤臓器脱の地域研究計画も立案した。骨盤臓器脱は高齢者に好発し、QOLの悪化をきたすものであるが、コニュニティーベースでの研究は少なく、明らかな罹患率は報告されていない。多角的視点から、「幸福とはなにか」についてブータン文化、GNH政策、さまざまな人々との直接的な関わりを通じて、今後研究を進めていきたい。

"What is Happiness?" The author is starting research that theme in Kyoto University. The author had worked as gynecologist in Bhutan for half year in 2013 and examined many cases. Bhutan is famous for "Gross National Happiness". The author plans the research of "Association with altitude and pregnancy induced hypertension", inspired by the experiments. And, another research theme is pelvic organ prolapse disorder. This disorder is not critical but related with worse QOL. And it is frequent disorder in old women. But the prevalence is not known yet, because the community based research have not done much. The author would like to research about the big theme of "what is happiness", from various aspects in Japan and Bhutan.
