dc.description.abstractRecent progress in tracking technology can be a breakthrough for the introduction of augmented reality into industrial fields. Various applications proposed in the past that have not been put into practical use can be re-implemented with new tracking technology. Different capabilities and expectations might induce a very rapid introduction of augmented reality into industrial fields and might change daily life dramatically. In this article, after a brief introduction of augmented reality, past industrial application proposals and trials of augmented reality in the field of aviation, architecture, automotive, maritime, and nuclear are reviewed. Then future trends are predicted.en
